Would you know if David and Martha adopted Elijah and if he were Cherokee Indian. I have a gr-grandfather named Elijah Smith but we don't have his lineage beyond his name. my grandmother lived in Conway MO when my grandfather met her and they were married. I have a marriage year for Elijah Smith and Nancy Francis Wells of 1886.. this is the extent of my information.
