Everyone, many of you know that I do the layout work for the semi-annual Journal of the Douglas County Historical and Genealogical Society. The Society's Summer 2004 issue is hot off the presses, and one can view the table of contents on my unofficial Douglas County website at http://courses.smsu.edu/kwb237f/douglas. Instructions on how to order to Journal, join the Society, or obtain other Society publications are there as well. In addition, for the past several years, my web site has contained a cumulative index of the past Journals where one can look to see if a family member has ever appeared in one of the thirty-some issues that the Society has issued since 1974. Well, BIG NEWS - I just updated the cumulative index for all issues including the new Summer 2004 issue (my cum. Index had become about two years out-of-date). This new up-to-date version is available on my website as a 313-page .pdf file that can be downloaded and read by Adobe Acrobat Readers on either Windows or MAC computers. Try it out and let me know if you have any trouble using this large single file. Oh, a complete list the Tables of Contents for all issues is there as well. One final thing - a major revenue source for the Douglas County Museum in Ava is the sale of Society publications. Back issues of the Journals sell for $8 each including shipping. If you think you can use one of the Society's publications, order a copy and be assured your money will go to a worthy and all-volunteer organization. RootsWeb, I'll get off my soap box now-thanks for being there too. The Ozark Uncle Kenneth Brown, Ph.d., CPA Emeritus (Retired) Professor of Accountancy Springfield, MO Email: ozarkuncle@sbcglobal.net
