Smothers, b 1836 TN. Lived in AR as a boy. Moved to MO about 1865 and lived in Benton Co., Wright Co. (Cedar Gap), and Douglas Co. (Ava). Had at least three wives: Mary MCCULLY, Susan POTTER, and Sarah Ann SPURLOCK. Known Children: Doiter (b abt 1858 AR); David (b abt 1866 MO); Charles (b abt 1868); Ella Julia (b abt 1873); James Robert (b abt 1888); and Sadie M. (b abt 1890).
