Thank you for the additional Stacey information you've given. I'd like to correct the information regarding Jasper Newton and Margaret Gentry Stacey. The #1 child was not Jasper's child. John Allen Gentry b.Feb 7, 1872 Roy, Douglas Co., MO was a son of Margaret Nancy Gentry and John Gabriel Hartin who were not married. Margaret m. to Jasper Stacey a year later and John was raised by Margaret's mother, Elizabeth Anderson Rhodes Gentry Mathis, who was m. to James Mathis at the time. Elizabeth's photo is available on the Stone Co. MO website. John Gentry is found on the 1880 census living in the Mathis family as a ward. He ran away from home at the age of 16 to the Indian Territory, returning to marry neighbor Sarah Elizabeth Adams Sept 5, 1892 there in Roy. They are my grandparents. (The LDS Ancestral file is wrong regarding his parentage.) I have many family photos of the Stacey fam. that I would be glad to share for your book.
