-- I have been researching my son's paternal heritage for the last three years, and I still have several loose ends. One ggggrandfather was Jeremiah Earl "Jerry" Coats. I would like information about the several wives of Jerry Coats, particularly Nora H. Veasey, the mother of Viola Mae Coats Glasco, my son's gggrandmother. Another ggggrandfather was William A. "Bill" Glasco. Bill Glasco was the son of Mary Ann Glasco and, we think, Henry B. Glasco. Henry B. Glasco married Mary Ann Stewart in Osage Co. in 1851. By the time they lived in Falling Springs in 1860, the census shows that they had four children: James F. b. <1821>, Thomas W. b. <1857>, Sarah Ann Harriet b. 1855 and Martha Elizabeth b. 1859. In the 1870 census Mary Ann Glasco, Sarah, Martha and William are living with Moses and Eliza Alsup Woods. Cathie Reilly and I have not been able to determine what happened to Henry and when or where he is buried. Nor do we know exactly what happened to Mary Ann after 1870 and where she is buried. The death certificates for both William and Sarah Ann list Mary Ann Alsup and William Richard Glasco as the parents (Henry had a step-brother named Richard). William is listed as Moses Lock(e) Alsup's grandson in the 1880 census. If that is true, who is Mary Ann Alsup's mother? And what of Mary Ann Stewart? What happened to James and Thomas (Martha married James Harrison in Osage Co.)? Bill Glasco married Sarah Ann "Sallie Ann" Lord Wood(s). Sallie Ann's first husband was James W. Wood(s), by whom she had four children: John, Michael, Ibby (married Murdock) and Mahala (married first Farmer, then Proctor). Sallie Ann's mother was Mercy Jane Foster who married Jasper Turley, then Thomas H. Lord. Sallie Ann was born in 1857. I've seen 1851 as the date for Mercy Jane's marriage to Lord, but supposedly Lord adopted Sallie Ann. The death certificate lists Turley as her father. What is correct? I would welcome any information about these unanswered questions and would be especially grateful for photos of any of the parties listed. I will gladly share what information I have which also includes material about the Rhoads, Heard and Goforth families. Patricia Teed in Austin, Texas
