    2. I have a Nancy Ellen Alsup born 1851 in Ark died 1929 place unknown. Her parents are William Newton Alsup and Mary Pasley. I have no marriage information for her.     3. At one time I thought Wm N was my ancestor, but later found it was Wm L, son of Thomas. Here is a little bit of info on the Alsups some of which may have errors. Descendants of John C Jr Alsup Generation No. 1 1. John C Jr4 Alsup (John C3, Joseph2, William1) was born Abt. 1774 in VA, and died 1844 in Springfield, Greene, MO. He married Sally Robinson. She was born Abt. 1787 in NC, and died 1844 in Springfield, Greene, MO. By 1804 both John Alsup Sr and Jr were living in Williamson Co, TN. From there they moved to Lincol Co TN, by 1809, Giles Co, 1812, and into LawrenceCo by 1818. From 1812 until 1815 John Alsup Jr served in the War of 1812 and participated in the Battle of New Orleans on 8 Jan 1815. In the court minutes of Lawrence Co., for July 5, 1821, John Alsup Jr pleaded guilty of assault and battery and was fined five dollars and gave his neighbor, Davey Crockett as security. John Alsup Jr and several of his brothers moved to Hardeman TN in 1823. In 1824 with some of his brothers and 20 other men he went to Missouri on horseback.
