Marie, Could you look up Lazarous (spelled five ways that I have found so far) Maness. He was said to have been in Douglas in 1882 or earlier. I know that he died in 1888. He was a Baptist minister. He married Sarah Ann Martin, Humphreys I think in Johnson County. He had 12 children from his first wife Nancy and 4 more with Sarah. Sarah had 7 or 9 children from her first marriage.
