Posted on: Douglas Co., MO Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/DouglasObits/10035 Surname: Lemons, Goodman, Murin, Hopper, Hull, Brixey, Mallernee, Bruffett, Crewse ------------------------- Edith Beulah (GOODMAN) LEMONS, daughter of John and Rosa GOODMAN, was born January 12, 1906 at Norwood, Missouri, and departed this life at the Chastain Nursing Home, in Ava, Missouri, June 12, 1959 at the age of 63 years and 5 months. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Glendale Freewill Baptist Church where she worshipped regularly as long as her health permitted. On February 12, 1922 she was united in marriage to George LEMONS at the home of her parents near Mountain Grove, and to this union two children were born: Fay LEMONS and Mae MURIN, both of Mtn. Grove. Other survivors include her mother, Rosa GOODMAN, Norwood, MO; one brother, Chalmer GOODMAN, Norwood, MO; five sisters, Zella HOPPER, Violet HULL, Blanche BRIXEY, and Thelma MALLERNEE, all of Norwood, and Fern BRUFFETT of Buffalo, MO. There are also three grandchildren, Leon LEMONS and Twyla CREWSE, both of Topeka, KS, and Teresa MURIN of Mountain Grove. Three great-grandchildren all of Topeka, KS. She leaves a large number of other relatives and friends who are also saddened by her passing. She was preceded in death by her father, a son-in-law, a grandson, and a great-grandson. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Sunday, June 15, in the Criag-Hurtt-Hutsell Chapel with Rev. Oliver Letterman and Rev. Arvis Dixon officiating. Favorite hymns were sung by the Hopper Quartet accompanied by Mrs. Carl McNay at the organ. Pallbearers were Frank Thompkins, Lyle Hull, Roy Harrison, Earl Hull, Wayne Hopper, and Dale Mallernee. Interment was in the Denlow Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt-Hutsell. NOTE: Beulah was the daughter of John Henry GOODMAN (1882-1958) and Rosa WOODS (1887-1977). George LEMONS (1901-1984) appears to be the son of George LEMONS and Anna Susan BRIXEY. Can anyone confirm that?
