I am new to your list. I am searching for William MC GEE and his wife Belle. I first found William McGee on the 1910 Census in Richland Twp. and then the 1920 and 1930 census shows him living in Brush Creek Twp. He was 74 years old in 1930. I would like to know if William McGee was in Douglas County by 1900. Does anyone have the 1900 census? Also, are cemetery records availabe for Douglas County? Wold appreciate help. Thank you! Bev Tracy

You could be correct about him being in the other Fairview Cemetery. It is John Killingsworth Garner b. 1812 d. 1884 and the headstone I believe had the full name on it. Are you any relation to Vickie and Rick?

I don't know about the vandalism, but Laine Sutherland showed a stone for John K. Garner in 1995. Kristi

I can remember seeing a headstone there in the 70's and can not find it now. It was for John Killingsworth Garner. Some geneologies show him as being buried there.

This message was triggered by a flurry of messages on this topic in April 2004 (clearly, I'm WAY behind in correspondence). Most of those messages were about various members of WOOD and JOHNSON families who are buried at Mt. Ararat (some of whom are my ancestors too). Can someone provide a the name and address of a contact person so I can make a donation for upkeep and maintenance of Mt. Ararat cemetery? I had a name a address (and made a donation) around year 2000, but I seem to have misplaced the name and address since then. Thanks.

It is mentioned that his father's name was John and his mother's name is either Susan or Sarah. I have found a John Jennings who was married to a Susan. Squire's name isn't mentioned as one of the children, of course the census where the info is found, he would be approx 37. However, Squire named his first child Tabitha; John and Susan had a daughter, named Tabitha also. Interesting coincidence, don't you think? Sherry
