Surnames: Williams, Colley, Claunts, Davis, Kilgore,Decker Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GKB.2ACE/704.1 Message Board Post: I am very much interested in the John T. Williams you mentioned. I am looking for a John T. Williams who married a Charity Malinda ? and died in MO. I have very little info on him or her. I do know htat after he died she remarried in AR to a Robert or Richard Moffatt. John and Charity had children: Stephen, George Washington, and Mary. They lived in Laclede county but from records I found where Charity says that they were married in Harrison county and that John died and is buried in Big Beaver, Douglas county MO. He died according to these records about 1880 or 81 however he is not on the census record with her in 1880. If this might be the same John T. Williams please email me direct at cakeck@cox-internet.com. Thanks so much, Connie

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Carr, Applegate, Lawson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GKB.2ACE/1705 Message Board Post: Hi! I have a question for those of you who know something about the Applegate family. My 3rd gr grandfather George Washington Carr had a brother named Elihu or Elisha Carr. He moved to Stone County with his mother Nancy and sister Bethena, plus relatives named Edwards and Taylor in the 1850s. On the Stone County Genweb site there is a record of Elihu (Elisha) marrying a Rebecca Lawson. However, I have found other records indicating that her maiden name was Applegate. There are a very few Applegates in Stone County census records, but I have found more of them in Douglas County, living around the Maggard family. Does anyone out there have any knowledge of this Rosa Applegate? I suspect she married someone named Lawson and then married Elisha Carr. The marriage to Elisha took place in Feb, 1870. Here is a link to my family homepage if any of you are interested: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/s/c/h/Robert-L-Schneider/index.html?Welcome=1097176720 Thanks! 3. I'm having to get out of the look-ups because I'm totally swamped but I happened to be working with Curry's 1957 "Reminiscent History of Douglas County" when your request came it. On pages 8 & 9 of Curry's book, he lists the "trading points and merchants" contained in the Merchants Assessment Book for 1897. In that listing, he lists on merchant: "Mrs. L.D. Painter, general merchandise." Hope that helps a little bit.
