    1. Overman/Teller adoption
    2. Dan and Peg Engle
    3. Hello everyone, I am brand new to your list and hope someone can help!! I am researching William OVERMAN and wife Mary/Marinda/Miranda. She was born somewhere in MO in Nov 1861 according to the 1900 census in Oregon County. He was born in IA (unknown date) They were married around 1887/1888 (give or take). Daughters Cordelia b. Oct 1888, Mary b. Feb. 1890... then son John William b. Feb 1892 It's quite possible Mary/Marinda was born in Douglas County or the area, and a recent lead implies that the son was born in Douglas Co., Around 1893 another daughter was born, but I have no info at all on her. In 1898 the son was given up for adoption....and Marinda states their father is deceased. Does anyone have access to Ancestry or another site that could help me? The son's adoption was sealed, (including his actual b.c.) and the daughter's b.c's have not been found. I am looking for the son's birth, mother's maiden, parents marriage.....ANYTHING at this point. This family may have moved around from what I'm seeing....they were also in Howell Co. in this era. To make it worse, Marinda re-married in the 1890's to an Eli TELLER and one of the census items had OVERMAN scratched out and Teller written in. Help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to put this fractured family back together . The little John William was my husband's grandpa. If anyone else is researching this family, I do have limited info and photos to share (for the children) It was only pure chance that I was able to connect John William with the 2 older sisters. Sorry for the lenght of this post! Peggy Engle
