Help needed. My grandmother, Marthena Prock, is interned in the Mount Everett Cemetery, Douglas County, MO. Problem, she is in an unmarked grave. Does anyone on the list have a plat of the cemetery showing who and where the occupants are located in the cemetery? The cemetery was also known as Bryant and Buttermilk Cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wanda F. (Wimberley) Cooper Bella Vista, Arkansas bcooper@mc2k.com

I have always suspected that George had an older brother. The CORNELISON Family were neighbors of Thomas HALE in the 1850 census. George was born in Ohio and Thomas his father was born in Pa. I have pretty good proof that Thomas HALE's father was Owen HALE of Belmont and Athens county Ohio area.

I'm wondering whether my southern Missouri Dodsons have a connection with yours. My grandfather, Mason Edwin Crain (b 1912, Teresita, MO, d 2000, Caney, KAN) was the eldest son of William Dennis Crain (b 1892, Wright Co MO) and Minnie Belle (Gibson) Crain (b 1895, Hartville, MO). William Dennis and Minnie lived in the Wright/Shannon Co area of MO until she died in 1923. Minnie's father was George Edward "Ed" Gibson (b abt 1873 in Osage Co, KAN) and her mother was Adora (Dodson) Gibson (b abt 1874 in Hartville, MO). I'd love to hear from you if you think there may be a link! I know quite a bit about the family from the 1920s on and am willing to share what I have, but the earlier years are a mystery to me.
Subject:Want to transcribe MO death indexes? Snipped from another mail list - please pass on to your friends interested in Missouri! Beth Missouri Post-1910 Death Records Project http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/birthdeath/deathFAQ.asp The Missouri State Archives sponsors a successful "e-volunteer" program in which volunteers, working from their home, index and transcribe historical records. With the help of "e-volunteers," the Missouri State Archives plans to post online a database index of nearly two million death certificates from 1910 to 1954. This index will then be linked to a digital image of the death certificate. Volunteers to this project will be provided photocopies of the death certificate index, transcription instructions, and a spreadsheet template to transcribe these records. The index is arranged by year and alphabetically by surname within the year. Because of the size of the project the index has been divided into approximately 50 page sections for transcription. If you are interested in participating in the Missouri Death Certificate Project, please send the following information to archvol@sos.mo.gov a.. Your name and email address b.. Postal address for mailing the photocopies of the index c.. Information on the spreadsheet application (MS Excel, MS Works, etc.) you will use. Please note that the creation of this electronic index is the first phase of this project and required before the Missouri State Archives can begin the digitization of the death certificates. A date has not been set yet for the release of the database online.
I'll try that information site again! Haven't had coffee! http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/birthdeath/deathFAQ.asp
