Just click on my name, and you should see my email address. The website does it this way to keep junk-mail programs from picking up the addresses and sending us scads of unwanted messages. I am in touch with a couple of cousins who would love to have your info and your email address. I'd like it to be clear up front that, while I don't have a website, I do share info with cousins -- privately. If there is anything you do not want shared -- let me know from the beginning. I have nothing on the descendants of Edward's children and frankly do not know much about him, his children, or his wives. My goal is not only to reunite the Farris family, but to record all of the descendants I can find. I will gladly accept anything you care to send. Every little bit helps! I look forward to hearing from you. Alma

    1. looking for friends
    2. Patricia
    3. I attended school there when I was a freshman in high school. I am looking for the Bradley family. Karen and Billie Jean Bradley. They would be about 62-64 years old now. They had a younger brother and sister that was about 10 years younger. They were boy/girl twins. I do not know their names. Karen and Billie Jean's father was killed about the time the twins were born, near Ozark, MO if my memory serves me correctly. During the time I knew then they lived in the country, far end of the county. They were the first students on the bus in the morning and did not get home before dark. If the roads were bad they had to stay along the route with others since their farm could not be reached. They got up and milked before getting on the school bus. I know Karen married but do not know her married name. I have tried to find them on line but the recent marriages are not listed. Nor are any phone numbers. I left and went to Alaska in 1957. The summer of 1959 they came to Springfield, MO to visit for a few days. I think it might have been their grandfather that brought them. Just don't remember. We wrote for years but over the last almost 50 years we lost touch. I was in Ava yesterday but was not able to locate them. The school we attended is gone, the house I lived in is gone. The old farm where we rented is gone and now a golf course. My father was R C Murrell and he was the school guidance counselor that year. My name was Patricia Jean Murrell when I attended school there. Funny I can't be sure of the year I attended there but believe it to be 1956-1957. Just a few years ago! Can you help me find my friends? Sincerely, Patricia Murrell Mata Pocahontas, AR 72455 870-892-1546 pjmata@cox.net

    1. Raymond Spencer
    2. Patricia
    3. RAYMOND SPENCER. Looking for information about Raymond Spencer who was in the Army stationed in England in May of 1944 near or at Cheddars. He went to France June 6th with the D Day landings. He returned to Somerset, England in June of 1945 before he returned to the US. Looking for Mr. Raymond, his family or Orbit. Can any one help? Believe he lived at Holt, Mo or Holt county or Holts Summit. I am not sure which before WWII. His daughter is looking for him. His family may not know of her existence but she would like to know what he was like and what happened to him. She only met him once when she was young. She waited until her mother died...to try and find him. I am afraid might be too late, to find him? I am involved because she wrote to my uncle because we have a Raymond Spencer in our family but he was not in the military service. I do have a picture of him so if any one is interested or thinks they can find this family I will send it to you. If any one knows how to look up local orbit would be very appreciative. . Birthday may have been May 9, 1923 if so he would have passed away in September of 1968. Additional information on this family may be: Shown on the 1930 census a Raymond Spencer 6 years old living in Cote Sans Dessien in Callaway County Missouri. This town in very close to Holts Summit according to the Latitude and Longitude and is in Callaway County Missouri. The census was taken on April 10, 1930 so Raymond would have still been six if his birthday is May 9th. In 1930 the parents listed are Ben and Hester; Sisters Mildred and Maude(?) and brother Henry and Hester's brother Frank. SSDI (Social Security Death Index) found a Raymond Spencer born May 9, 1923 died September 1968, SSN 498-14-9480 in Missouri. IF this is the corrcet one we dont know yet. Patricia Murrell Mata pjmata@cox.net Our family was contacted because we had a Raymond Spencer but he was not in the war.

    3. Leatha, Gallatin is in Daviess County located in northern Missouri. I just checked a history of the county, and Gallatin because its county seat in 1836. Thus, Gallatin would have been in Daviess County during the Civil War. Does that help? 3. I ran the following in my Ozarks Genealogy Column February 21, 2005 Queries Query: HICKS - COMBS: Patricia Osborn Orton, 4309 Indian Hills Rd S. E., Decatur, AL 35603. E-mail: Aptgen@aol.com I am a long time researcher of the Hicks and Combs families of Douglas and Wright County, Mo. For many years most Hicks researchers have relied on the records of Tessie Miller, now deceased, concerning the ancestry of James Hicks, a son of Robert Hicks and Winnifred Combs Sumner Hicks. Tessie stated that she had proof that James was born a Hill and was adopted by Robert and Winnifred. This erroneous record even made it's way several years ago into the Combs Family Newspaper that is distributed to members of the Combs group in Kentucky. Finally, after all these years, I have in my possession a copy of a letter that Tessie wrote to Cinita Brown in Ava, Mo. stating that she had made an error and that James was indeed a true son of Robert Hicks and Winnifred Combs. Therefore, anyone having made the mistake of taking Tessie Miller's research for granted, needs to change their records to reflect James as being a natural son of Robert and Winnifred. I would like to have this error corrected wherever and whenever I can. I am a great-great-grandaughter of James Hicks. Reply: Thanks Patricia, I am glad to receive this correction. I am a descendant of James' sister, Sarah Hicks, who married Joshua Rippee on Nov. 3, 1818, in Clay County, Ken. I was told that James Hicks and his wife, Rebecca Riley, are both buried in the Yates Cemetery in eastern Douglas County, Mo. They do not have tombstones, but are buried beneath a big cedar tree at the lower side of the Yates Cemetery. I am sure she would be a great help to the Hicks researchers.
