    3. Posted on: Douglas County, Mo Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Douglas/1406 Surname: BARNES BARNS, HOWARD, GILPIN ------------------------- Can anyone give me any information as to whether the family of Zachariah BARNES and Rachel GILPIN? were in Douglas Co after 1850? They were in Anderson Co, KY in the 1850 census, with daughter Rebecca J., and 6 other children. Rebecca Jane BARNES married John B. HOWARD (date and place unknown), and in Sep 1859, their daughter was born in Douglas Co. John B. was from Mercer Co, MO, and I am trying to find why they were in Douglas Co when their daughter was born. Also, am not completely sure Zachariah and Rachel are Rebecca Jane's parents. John B. died in Jan, 1860, age 24, and in July of that year when the Mercer Co. census was taken, Rebecca and baby were living in Mercer Co. with John B.'s father. Rebecca is 24 and is listed as being born in KY. There is also a 19 year old Richard BARNES or BAINES (writing unclear), also born in KY, living with them, whom I had always assumed to be Rebecca's younger brother, but the family in Anderson Co, KY does not have a Richard. Any help/clues appreciated. If anyone need the names of the other children in Zachariah's family, I can supply them. Thanks. Barbra
