Thomas was married to Lucinda Elizabeth Ellison, buried at Cox Cemetary. Thomas and Lucinda had a son Lemuel who married Charlotte Denney. Both Lemuel and Charlotte are buried at Cox Cemetary. A daughter,Mary M Hampton is also buried at Cox Cemetary. John Cox also has two sisters,Alley (Alice Jane) married Gentrl Wright and Amy married Jessie Bean.John Cox moved to Oklahoma around 1900.

In the 1994 Douglas County History and Families there is an entry for a David Garrison, in which a step daughter Rachel Cornett moved to Douglas County Missouri after the death of her husband. She stayed with her widowed mother until her mother's death in 1892, her mother was Lucinda Jenkins Garrison. Lucinda and David Garrison had several children including a Enoch Garrison. After the death of Lucinda, Rachel moved in with her step brother Enoch after the death of his wife and baby. On 15 July 1815 in Blount County, TN, Jarrard B. HUFFMAN m. Margaret FRESHAUR, b. 23 Sep 1798 TN, d. 14 March 1872 Douglas County, MO; probably the dau of John FRESHAUR & Catherine (no surname is listed). He was a millwright and a Missionary Baptist minister. Both are buried at the Burdette Cemetery (formerly known as the "Huffman Cemetery") located on the Jarrard B. HUFFMAN homestead west of Ava in Buchanan Township, Taney County, MO. In 1864 the boundary line between Taney & Douglas Counties was changed, at which time Buchanan Township, along with others,was annexed to Douglas County. James F. HUFFMAN, third son of Jarrard B. & Margaret (Fresheur) HUFFMAN, was the first person to be buried in this cemetery. The name of the cemetery was changed to distinguish it from another cemetery in the same county. Twelve sons: 1. Alexander HUFFMAN (b. 1817, probably in KY or TN) m. Nancy ELLIS in 1836. 2.
