Posted on: Douglas County, MO Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Douglas/11596 Surname: COATS ------------------------- I'm looking for information about the several wives of Jerry Coats (aka J.E. or Jeremiah Earl) who lived in Douglas County and was the son of Jim and Polly Coats. Jerry (b. 12/8/1868, d. 6/29/1953) may have had as many as seven wives. I have been given names of four: Hattie Hopewell, Eliza Goforth, Daisy ??? and Nora ???. Of particular importance to me due to medical history implications is the name (and maiden name) of the wife who was the mother of Viola Mae Coats Glasco (b. 2/9/1893, d. 6/28/1915). Will appreciate any information.

Posted on: Douglas County, MO Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Douglas/11592 Surname: Freeman, Dunlap ------------------------- I am searching for information on my grandmother, Melvina Freeman who married my grandfather, Charley Dunlap about 1900 or a bit earlier. I find grandfather and her in the 1910 Wright County census with 4 children including my father Cecil Columbus Dunlap, age 4 at the time. Also listed was a Laura Freeman age 22 SIL (sister in law) so evidently a sister to Melvina. No record of the family in the 1920 Wright County census. However, in the 1920 Douglas County census I find one Benjamin W Freeman age 32 whose wife is Unice(misspelled Eunice?) age 28. Listed are 4 children Edna C daughter age 11 and Howard son age 9 and two younger children whose names I could not make out plus an Elizabeth Freeman who was listed as Mother age 64 or 69. Also listed was Cecil C Dunlap age 13 (my father) whose relationship was listed as nephew. My thinking is that if Benjamin Freeman was my father's uncle he was probably also a brother to my father's mother, Melvina nee Freeman Dunlap and and Laura Freeman and that Elizabeth Freeman, maiden name unknown, was mother to the three of them, Benjamin, Melvina and Laura. One further bit of information I have. Family lore has it that Melvina later married a Reed and that my father and his brothers had a half sister by that marriage. Any information regarding this family line would be greatly appreciated either posted as a response hear, e-mailed to me directly or both.
