That is where Green WOODS, described in the previously posted Julia Gass query, lived in 1860, according to the census. I suspect it was near the Phelps County line, since a post office in that place with the same name, Sarvis Spring, commenced service in 1866, which was the year the Dent County post office with that name was discontinued. I understand Green Woods, a Methodist preacher, was slain in the Civil War. Any information about his military service and death will be appreciated as well. There is a Lake Springs 1/2 way between Salem and Rolla. This may be the one you mention.
