He married Elizabeth Arthur, daughter of William Arthur around 1840. He went off to fight in the civil war, contracted measles and died on a march in the rain near Cassville. Neighbors from near Lake Spring area went after the body to bring it home but could not find it. He had several children. One was Rev. Francis Marion or Marion Francis that remained in Dent Co. and married Jane Hargis.
