Scotia is located in Marktwain National Forest off HY 72 between HY B and county road 536 and is on the Dent and Reynolds county line. There were several iron works in the area. One was called Nova Scotia Iron Works and was in operation between 1881 and 1888. there is a Cemetery with between 50 and 100 graves in it with only a few of them marked
