    1. WARDEN - LARKIN 1870 MURDER; DENT CO MO
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/FKB.2ACE/1085 Message Board Post: Am looking for descendants of THOMAS WARDEN (aka WORDEN), who was convicted & later pardoned for the knifing of my 3X Great GEORGE W. LARKIN, 8/1870. These two fams. lived on neighboring farms in Dent Co., 1860 & 1870 census, with the Larkins knowing Thomas since he was 10 yrs old. George's 2d wife (my Great), ODEAL (nee unknown) was ALOT younger than George, had 9 children with him (wonder if at least the last one was George's or Thomas' child). Apparently, George discovered an affair between Thomas and Odeal, and when Thomas was confronted by George, there was a fight in which George was stabbed and died. Am seeking any info on this event, and would like to have both sides of the story. Don't worry - its water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned - I am just curious, and would like to fairly present the story in my data.

Surnames: DENT Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/FKB.2ACE/1084 Message Board Post: There is continued coverage by the Washington DC area television stations. They say this morning that 3 people have been killed by the tornado and about 90 injured, 12 of which were seriously injured. They are still working through the LaPlata area to find out the extent of the damage. It looks really bad around Rtes 301 and Rte 6 where the press seem to be stationed. Route 301 is now open to traffic, but not Rte 6. Walforf seems to have escaped damage. No news on the reunion at this time. Please keep all of LaPlata, MD in mind, I am sure they can use any help.

    3. My great aunt, Ava Cox, was born in 1895 Shannon county. I have checked all the counties surrounding and noticed many Cox families in Dent county. I am a descendant of Crabtree and Welch lines from Dent on my mother's side but the Cox and Foyster/Foster are my Dad's. My grandfather's name was William Newton Cox who was born in Hannibal, Mo. to Charley A. and Sarah L. Foyster/Foster. Charley was born in 1859 Mo. and Sarah was born in 1867 Mo. Someone told me Charley may be the son of Alfred Cox. Only hearsay. I appreciate anyone's help with the Cox or Foysters in this area. Thank you very much.
