    1. SALEM CITY CEMETERY
    2. Would somebody please send me the snail address of the Salem City Cemetery? I need to inquire about possible Union troop burials during the Civil War. Am seeking any info on Union soldiers killed in the Battle of Salem on 3 Dec 1861. According to one Regimental Return, 6 Union soldiers were killed that day. On 18 March 1868, 15 Union soldiers in Salem City Cemetery were removed to Jefferson Barracks. Does anybody out there know the names of any of these men? Or, does anybody know about burial sites for any of them? Thank you, Judy

    1. Re: Rebecca Craddock Hardester
    2. John, I wasn't able to find much on Hardester in the Genealogical & Historical Society's books--I have Vol. I and Voll. (Cemeteries)--but I did find something regarding your Rebecca: listed on page 540: Roseberry Cemetery (Located on Phelps County Road 192, approx. 3/4 mile from Dent County line, Springcreek Twp. 34N, R. 9-8W., Sec.21.) CRADDOCK, DANIEL W. 10/28/1856 - 2/27/1923; m. Lillian E. Inman, 10 ch., 4 sons & 6 daus.: William Ezra (bur. Cedar Grove Cem.), Edwin E., Rebecca Hardester, Ethel, Mrs. Everett Black, Beatrice Mace, Blanche (m. Guy Robinson), Pearl (m. Cliff Edgar). CRADDOCK, LILLIAN E. w/o Daniel 9/25/1860 - 3/6/1946, home, Croddock, MO; nee Inman, parents bur. Inman Cem. near Round Pond. CRADDOCK, MARY ETHEL 1/15/1890 - 1/25/1975, d/o Daniel & Lillian (next is a James Craddock & his wife Ann Mobley Craddock of the same generation as Daniel--perhaps a brother?) Perhaps I could do more if I knew more about the people you're researching. I found a couple references for Hardesters in Macon Co., Bates Co., & Randolph co., MO. Could the one listed below be the right William? 1920 United States Federal Census listed at 133 Cordova Street: Hardester, William C - enumerated with wife, Della, 45, b. KS Age: 51 Marital Status: Married Birthplace: Missouri (also both parents) Race: White State: California County: Los Angeles Township: Alhambra ED: 577 ; Page: 9A I hope this helps, Dianne Spitzer
