Did Gracie also marry James John Bates and have a son John George Bates? Did Gracie have a brother named Alexander? I am a (new) Turnbough rellative and may be confused with all the John Turnboughs. This John Turnbough has been a mystery. I believe he was married three times. The only only wife I think I know about is Margaret Douglas with whom he had 2 sons, Marion and Abner. Does this sound anything like what you have? Troy Mason

Seems like a lot of people in Dent, Phelps, and Texas Counties are descended from that band, and no one seems to know anything about them, not even why they called themselves "Blackfoot" (not "Blackfeet"). Sorry I am behind on my reading of the list mail but I did keep it until I have read it. So I just found this message today. I go thought and look to see if there is anything in the subject line that is interesting and look at it. Other wise the rest gets put aside until later. We seem to have the same line going. I am going back on James and Ellen Stricklin. I have been working on the son that went to Washington State. I don't have a lot of time to work on it but I do have information on where James and Polly are buried. If you want to get together on information let me know. Can someone tell me where Fraser Cemetery in Dent County is located? Also, are there any listings of this cemetery? I'm looking for GOAD's that are supposed to be buried here. One more question - were there any required records for either birth or deaths in the county for the period 1884 - 1885? I've check the records on the MODENT web page and my grandfather's not there; I'm looking for suggestions on other places to look. Thanks for your help! I realize that there are lots of Copelands fin Missouri. Does anyone researching Copelands know of any good sources of information on the Missouri Copelands? I am trying to find out how Ransom Copeland is connected to other Copelands. Ransom was born 1822 in GA. He married Louisa Sims in Crawford Co., MO in 1843. After her death he married Polly Turnbough. They farmed in Dillard, MO. I would love to find out if Ransom had any siblings in MO. His children include: Solomon, Mary Ann, Mickey, Thomas, Beatress, John Ransom, Amber, Emma, and Coach. Ransom was a Union officer during the Civil War in Dent County. His son Solomon married Mary Butts 1861 in Dent County. I would appreciate any suggestions. Kathy Copeland

All the Crabtrees you listed are the desendants of Job and Elizabeth Crabtree.( children, grandchildren, ggrandchildren) One was a great surprize to me, the Mr. Crabtree buried in Patterson cemetery is James S. Crabtree( son of Job), I have been trying to find out where he was buried. He is my GGGrandfather.... I have read that John Solomon Crabtree died in Dent in 1853 and his wive died in Dent a few years later. Job died in Dent between 1880 -1885, his wife died between 1885-1900.....I found John Crabtree Sr. in Dent on the 1860 census, then he and his wife disappear, the same with Moses and his wife. I have not been able to find John Sr. or Moses again....I found out that Hulda Crabtree( wive of Giles) moved to Illinois with her children, still looking for them. I checked into buying one of the Dent County Cemetery books, but I could not afford one. I know that with one of these books I could answer alot of my questions. Until then I'll keep plugging along..LOL.. Again Larry, let me say," Thank You"......Bobbie Lou
One of my great aunts was Mary Ramsey Jones, married a Collier. Does that sound familiar to anyone? thanks, Juanita
