    1. [MODAVIES] DCGS Meeting
    2. Lanita Sconce Smith
    3. 1922 Gallatin Bank Robbery The Daviess County Genealogical Society [DCGS] will enjoy learning about the 1922 Gallatin Bank Robbery at their regular meeting on Sat., Sept 27 at 1:30pm. Meeting at their permanent home at the Sheriff’s Home of the Squirrel Jail in Gallatin, the DCGS will have a short business meeting before Dave Stark, former Daviess County Historical Society President, takes the floor to inform us about this historical robbery which ended in a murder. Dave can always be depended upon for sharing history nuggets at each meeting. [For example, did you know that the Gallatin Courthouse was sold at one time? Who bought it? It was none other than Johnny Ringo’s family.] We look forward to hearing more about the intriguing story of the 1922 robbery and invite all interested parties [bring your lawn chair]. For more information on this meeting, learning more about your own family history or joining, contact President Lanita Sconce Smith at ozarkn@grm.net.
