I saw your Iva Mae Brannen, also listed in Pattonsburg. I think it was a coincidence only. The age is off a couple of years, and the mother is wrong. I think the Daviess County clerk who wrote in the marriage book misunderstood Ivaree as Iva Mae. The document is clearly written and says Mrs. Dora Brinnen is Iva's mother, and she provided her permission for the marriage. Actually, it is Loyd Mallory and any possible children that I am tracking. He was my uncle, and any children would be first cousins. Regrettably, I can't locate Loyd and Iva in the 1930 census. When my mother was still alive, she told me that Loyd "just disappeared". So, I don't have much to work on. -----Original Message----- From: modavies-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:modavies-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Randall Higgins Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2008 5:49 PM To: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com; modavies@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MODAVIES] Mallory-Brinnen marriage Pattonsburg 1920 shows James W. E. 14 (the census was Jan. 6, 1920, so she could have been 3 years older August 1, 1923) Ives L. 9 John D. 2 I'm not sure about the name Iva Mae. Could it have been Ivareah (Iva Ray) and been incorrectly recorded? I was confused about this marriage due to Iva Mae Brannen (15 in 1920) in my wife's family. Listed as a step-daughter of Frank Casebolt in 1920. Her mother is Mary J. who was married to Perry (Pary) Brannen (Brannin/Brannon) before his death in 1909. I think the above James/Dora/Ivare?? is the most likely relationship, do you? -------------------------------------------------- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2008 5:29 AM To: <MODAVIES-L@rootsweb.com> Subject: [MODAVIES] Mallory-Brinnen marriage > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: rbsanders > Surnames: Mallory, Brinnen > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counti es.daviess/1786/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I have a copy of a marriage record between Iva Mae Beinnen and Loyd > Mallory in Pattonsburg, Daviess County, Missouri, dated August 1, 1923. > The license gives Iva Mae's age as 17 (b. 1905-1906), and it indicates > that her mother, Mrs. Dora Brinnen, gave written permission for the > marriage. > > Does anyone recognize these people? > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
