I have connected with several descendants also. Do you know if the William Taylor who murdered his father in law was Nathan's father? I believe that Nathan's mother was Sarah Brewer. William Taylor is without a wife on 1850 census but it is marked married in the last year so that may have been a 2nd wife (Julie Oster?) Nathan's sister was raised by relatives and never left Mo. Nathan and James turned up in Oregon 1865. Benjamin Taylor, father of William and Jacob) did go to California and I found him in Sonoma. I don't know if he was Nathan and James grandfather or not.
