    1. Re: Looking for Death Record for Charles A. MANUEL, d. abt 1892
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EKB.2ACE/774.1 Message Board Post: Everly Cemetery is indeed in Daviess County; I visited the cemetery last September and all the trees that had previously encumbered it have been removed in efforts to preserve it. Everly is the larger of two 19th century cemeteries located on a portion of “Adam-Ondi-Ahman,” property of significance to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons). Everly is labeled #3 in Grand River Township on the following map I created, just south of the town of Jameson: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sareid/map2003.htm The Everly Cemetery Transcription online at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~familycollecting/NWMissouri/databases/CD-Everly.htm has the following entry: “Manuel C. A. Co. M. 4 Prov. E. N. Mo. Mil.” with no dates given. A second entry by the Treeclimbers not yet online reveals that the tombstone is located “outside the cemetery”. Charles’ Union Civil War service record can be found online at the Missouri State Archives http://www.sos.state.mo.us/archives/soldiers/details.asp?id=S204735&conflict=Civil%20War&txtName=manuel,%20charles&selConflict=All&txtUnit=&rbBranch=all Viewing the actual record will reveal he was inducted at Gallatin, Daviess County. Surviving will and probate records in Daviess County begin 1890; microfilm can be ordered through either the MO State Archives or the Family History Library. This might be a start to find Charles’ parents.
