I wished that my gr gr grandfather Lewis D. Shaffer would have shared our Thanksgiving with us. Lewis was born abt 1821 in Ohio and died 5 May 1886 in Daviess Co., Missouri. He married in 1843 Sarah Evans in Putnam Co., Indiana and had 12 children most of which were born in Adams Co., IL. He married 2nd in 1866 Sarah J. Landis in Adams Co. IL. They had one child Iona. Lewis married 3rd in Daviess Co., MO in 1883 Emily J. (Thompson) Hendricks. I would have asked him who his parents were? Also told him that I appreciated him as one of my ancestors. Other questions would have included: Where and what became of his son William? What was Lewis's middle name? How did he meet Sarah Evans? Why did he move to Daviess Co., MO? Lewis D.
