    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Fansler Fletcher Harmon Yancey Stout Hankins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EKB.2ACE/716.1 Message Board Post: I'm interested in the Fansler family. Have you done any research on Sarah's parents and/or siblings? Her parents were Thomas & Sarah Ann (Fletcher) Fansler, m. 18 Apr 1826 in Stokes Co., NC. They had at least 8 children; Nancy, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Susannah, Lucinda, William, Sarah Ann and Thomas. I am especially interested in their daughter, Elizabeth (Fansler) Harmon, b. abt 1831 in Indiana. Elizabeth m. Jacob Harmon 1848 Hamilton Co., Indiana and resided in Black Hawk Co., Iowa by 1856. In the next year, Jacob murdered Andrew Jackson Yancey. While Jacob was serving his 12 year sentence, the Fanslers & extended Harmon family removed to the Daviess Co., Missouri area. I find Elizabeth & her sons living with Isaiah & Nancy (Fansler) Stout in 1860 DeKalb Co., MO. (Nancy being sister of Elizabeth.) Jacob & Elizabeth had sons; James Milton (eventually went back to Indiana), Jacob Newton (returned to Iowa), David F. (returned to Black Hawk Co.) and Thomas (probably died in Wyoming.) I have not been able to locate Elizabeth (Fansler) Harmon after the 1860 census ... did she & Jacob divorce? I believe she had a daughter named Vina who married a Hankins, however I'm not sure if Vina was from the Jacob/Elizabeth union or another marriage of Elizabeth's. Would be glad to exchange info with anyone working on the Harmons & Fanslers!
