    3. This tip was on ancestry.com's newletter today. I found it very good and thought others would too. I am not affiliated with them except by membership, but some of the articles are very good on the newsletter and well worth the subscription. Ancestry Quick Tip Check Multiple Days of Newspapers for Obituaries by Rick Minerd When you check newspapers for obituaries, never stop the search at the first obituary for the person. Check the next day or two after the original obit appeared for corrections. Prior to the electronic age, a lot of obits were reported to the newspapers over the phone or handwritten and turned in--often with mistakes that were corrected after the initial obituary was printed. For example, my sister was listed as "Mrs. Stan Jones" instead of "Mrs. Dan Jones" in a first obit. In recent years, I've also noticed our local paper will carry an obituary one day and the next day when more time has been spent making arrangements the obituary will be supplemented with a picture of the deceased. Thanks to Rick Minerd for today's Quick Tip! If you have a tip you would like to share with researchers, you can send it to [email protected] Hope this helps!
