The full title is "Genealogy and History of the related Keyes, North, and Cruzen Families with a sketch of the Early Norths of England". I'm trying to locate/document family "margin notes" from the original generation and descendants who received the book and may have added Birth/marriage/death or other family data as the book was passed down through the generations. Original books located to date have green cover and a publication date of 1914. 1. [MODAVIES] Naming Patterns
    2. Lanita Sconce Smith
    3. FOUND this online. I had forgotten a few: Naming Patterns in England, 1700-1875   1st son -- father's father 2nd son -- mother's father 3rd son -- father 4th son -- father's eldest brother 1st daughter -- mother's mother 2nd daughter -- father's mother 3rd daughter -- mother 4th daughter -- mother's eldest sister Younger children would be named after earlier ancestors, but the pattern in their case was more varied. One variation from the above was for the eldest son to be named after the mother's father and the eldest daughter after the father's mother. In this case the second son would be named after the father's father and the second daughter after the mother's mother. Occasionally the second son and daughter would be named after the father and mother instead of the third son and daughter. Another variation was to name the third daughter after one of the great-grandmothers instead of after the mother. In such a case, the fourth daughter would usually be named after the mother. Hope this helps! Lanita I think my family tree is a few branches short of full bloom.

    3. Greetings Lanita, Next Wensday, the 25th, I will be leaving town for a week. So if you have anything urgent to get to me , please get it to me before then. As soon as I get back, I plan to start working on Vol. 8 of "Daviess Diggins'". I will get Lois' minutes of the last meeting transferred, some more obituaries and whatever else looks applicable. I will tell you when I will be ready for your Presidential Message, or rather, you can tell me when you will be ready to send it. By the way, I will be attending a convention in Tia Juana, Mexico and I will be giving a presentation on doing Genealogy Research in Eastern Europe, using the Universal Language. The cemetery is still being used for new burials, so the cd would be the complete list that we would use. I need to go back out there, but its been in the late 90s with the humidity awful lately. I also have been nursing my ill husband, so genealogy hasn't been at the fore front of my activity. Thanks for your generosity. 3. Hello again Vanette, I checked my database for George and Nellie and yes, I found them and yes, I am related to George. I am descended from the Marsh and Love families as well as a lot more families in the Daviess and several other counties area. I first became related to the Place family when my ancestor Catherine Bensley married Henry Love SR. Catherine's sister was Anna Bensley and married Peleg Place. The Love and Place family inter married several times. My Alexander Knapp Love lost his parents when they died as a small boy. He and his siblings were raised by Aunts and Uncles. When Alex was 15 years old in 1837, he came to Daviess Co., MO in a covered wagon with his Aunt and Uncle. Their name was Place. Other ancestors besides the Marsh and Love families are McCrary, Splawn, McCoy, Manuel, Mershon, Puckett, Potter, Johnson, Conover, Kerns, Whorton and I probably left one or two families out. I am related to many families who married into these families. I have a BIG family. Keeps me very busy. I also research my husbands family. It's a lifetime thing. I am never caught up. It's been very nice e-mailing you again. Lu --- VanetteHobbs@aol.com wrote: > > In a message dated 7/16/2007 10:05:27 A.M.
