My main line is the MAXWELL family. We arrived from Virginia in 1858. Members of our family still live in Jamesport. Cris McPhail ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

The BARRs were mostly in Andrew County, but supposedly were in Daviess for a short time in the late 1840s-early 1850s. Vanette ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

If you must have a Roll Call.... Please, please place your surnames in the Subject Line of the email. If not, they will be deleted by most. Jim Wright.. ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
I may scan the subject line, but most of the info I'm looking for is in the email itself... you never know, so don't delete so fast before really reading.... you may be deleting what would be a key to busting down one of your brick walls, all because the email may contain clues to finding the answers to your research... many of mine were found by going in what would be the back door, and some in the most unexpected places...... Lanita
Sharon, Thanks for the input. I have put out a number of books so that many lines can know the info. Whatever is left after I'm gone, my siblings and husband have instructions that they are to donate it to the local societies if a person interested cannot be found in the family. Lanita
Its been a while since we've had a roll call. I don't know about you but sometimes I forget who is researching who... and then when I continue the research, stumbled on to additional surnames not mentioned before. If the List Administrator agrees, perhaps we can for this roll call end on Sun night at 10pm CST. I personally would like to list some of our more important SURNAMES who are connected to ONE or TWO of your main lines in the area.... remember to put your SURNAMES in CAPS to make it easier for others to scan your email.... Remember, we have some new people on the list, so DON'T assume that everyone knows who you are researching.... we forget and add new names to ours and wish we could remember who in the world it is on the list who might have info on that family. I'm sure our great List Administrator would like for us to feel free to discuss on the list... you never know who might have a tidbit of info not realizing that it will help you with a clue or insight on that family. Good luck! Lanita Sconce Smith DCGS Pres. BAKER, STITH, SMITH, McBRAYER, BROWN, CASTOR, McCARTY, BUTTRICK among many others
At the same time, Lanita, you will some day need someone to pass on your info to when you depart this world - someone who will love it and cherish it and protect as much as you do. You might consider leaving it to him in your will. Or maybe just try talking to him and explaining to him that this info represents years of work and you'd like to make sure he includes you in the credits. If he's a newbie, he probably just doesn't understand the etiquette of genealogy yet. I was guilty of the same thing in my early genie years, except I can't remember all the people I borrowed from so I can go back and thank them - if any of you are here -THANKS!!! He should buy the book. You didn't mention or I missed it, how expensive is it. I have bought numerous books on my families. Appreciate all the hard work. Do not Ged it. Reeta ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
