Ladies and Gentlemen!! Because of the awesome generosity of someone on this list, I now have the book THE HISTORY OF DAVIESS COUNTY 1882, downloaded, and in my possession. I am now available to do whatever lookups daily in this book... All you will need to do is find the page number from the index on the Daviess County website, and let me know what page you need... ONCE AGAIN, this has proven what I have believed for many years, and have said a number of times on the list... WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND!! THIS gift was another example of what a true genealogist is... freely sharing whenever and whereever they can... THANKS, RANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lanita

I transcribed the text below while doing some research on my Blankenship family that lived in Pattonsburg, Daviess Co. I've so far not been able to connect to this person in the bio, but hopefully others will find it useful. The History of Daviess County Missouri; Published by Birdsall & Dean 1882; Daviess County Library Gallatin, MO: Biographical Sketch of Greenville Blankenship: Greenville, son of John and Agnes Blankenship, was born in Greenupsburgh, Greenup county, Kentucky, June 2, 1817. His mother died when he was about four years old, and his father removed to Lawrence county, Ohio, where he lived until reaching his sixteenth year, when, in company with his father, he returned to his native county in Kentucky and there remained until 1849. In that year he came to Missouri, stopped one winter in Ray county, then came to Daviess county and settled in Benton township, near old Pattonsburg, in the spring of 1850. He purchased a tract of wild land, which he converted into a fine farm, and now owns 170 acres of as rich and well cultivated land as can be found in North Missouri. His farm extends over the Daviess county line into DeKalb county, and is most pleasantly located, with all the modern improvements. He is most profitably engaged in general farming and stock-raising for the market. Mr. Blankenship was married to Miss Mary Ann Ellison, of Greenup county, Kentucky, on the 15th day of February, 1838. The fruits of this union were eleven sons and five daughters, only three of whom are living; namely, Clarinda, wife of Thomas Herron, of Benton township; James, living on the home farm and Thomas, at home. Of those dead, was Greenville, Jr., who was killed, June 20, 1881. __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo! Vicki, I tried to reply to your email, and it bounced. I am not the one who put the divorce record on line. But, you're right. I just did a search for Kendrick JOHNSON, and came up with 2 marriages for a male that name in Daviess Co. 29 Oct 1846 to Eliza BROWN, and the other to Elizabeth CAMPBELL 17 Oct 1848. Found both of these online at ancestry.com under MISSOURI MARRIAGES TO 1850! Let me see if I can find anything else. Lanita ps: thanks for the appreciation.. I just like to help people.. what goes around, comes around!
