Thanks Jo! Hoover kin, this is new info as far as I know. Mrs. Alice Stever must be who I have as "Alcy" married to Steve Willis. Ada married Alexander "Alea or Elie" Dooley. I have Verna as "Fern", married to a Mr. Pike. I have William as Willie, Jessie as Jessie Ellis, Verle as Verle R., Tony as Tony H., Jay as Jay W, wives all unknown. Sister Minerva is Lettie Minerva, b. about 1880, married to James Will Smith, son of Robert Smith and Mary Stretch. Mary (Stetch) Smith was James Bryant Hoover's 3rd wife, m. 30 Mar 1893, making her Lettie Minerva Hoover's step-mother. (Maybe not formally.) This gives us Colorado as a place to look for Lettie Minerva (Hoover) and James Will Smith's family. Lettie Minerva was James Byant Hoover's last child by Martha Jane (Maddux) Prater. James Bryant Hoover only had 20 children, 10 each by Penelope Tibbs and Martha Jane Maddux, so I figure those of us with Dallas Co. Hoover genes must be related to at least 1/2 of the county! :-) It's really interesting how someone in one part of the country can provide a valuable clue for folks researching in another part.
