Clay Denver Canon was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Ira, the son of Clarence and Mona (Edison) Canon. He died May 30, 2001, peacefully at his home. On Oct. 29, 1938, he joined his life with Willa Moore. Their lives were blessed with three children. In 1944 he began his service with the United States Navy. He proudly served in World War II. After completing his military service in January of 1946, he returned to California and then to Nevada to work as a ranch foreman. In the 1950s he brought his family to the Urbana and Tunas area and began his life-long work as a carpenter and farmer. He loved life and the outdoors and he was very proud of his garden. He had a special knack for woodworking and his family will enjoy many, handmade keepsakes for generations to come. He was adored by his family and was blessed with a multitude of dear friends. He was a member of the Tunas Christian Church. He never complained about his declining health, always looking forward to the many visits with his dear friends and family. Those visits brought him great joy and he was very grateful to all of you who took the time to come. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen; three brothers: Virgil, Oren and Morris; his son, Dwight; and his daughter, Jeanette. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Willa; a daughter, Kathy and husband, Ronnie George, Camdenton; two sisters: Waneta Charlton and Vivian Gregory; a brother, Henry Canon; and 14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Shane and wife, Joyelle and their children, Emily, Dillon and Caroline, Springfield, Jennifer and husband, Ron Allen and their children, Markus, Megan and Corey, Lebanon, Michele and her son, Deandre, Kansas City, Stephanie and husband, Kyle Hendricks and their son, Kaden, Buffalo, and Rachel and her daughter, Chyna, Kansas City; and a son-in-law, Stanley Allen, Tunas. His ornery streak and broad smile will be sadly missed by all of us.
