HI Researchers, For those that were interested in the obituary for Alice Pitts, I had saved the obituary for her husband also. Springfield News-Leader April 24, 2001 Arvin D. Pitts Arvin D. Pitts, 85, Springfield, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2001, in Doctors Hospital. He was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Dallas County, Mo., the son of Hugh and Bertha Pitts. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during World War II. He was a life long farmer, a retired maintenance man for Syntex Agri-Business and a member of High Street Baptist Church. Arvin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one son-in-law, and one granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice; three sons, Delmar and Sharon Pitts, David Pitts, and George T. and Barbara Pitts, all of Springfield; three daughters, Martha Melton, Strafford, Judy and Doug Thompson, Springfield, and Annette and Mark Baldwin, Rogersville; nine grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; two brothers, Howard and James T. Pitts, both of Iowa; and two sisters, June Turner, Buffalo, Mo., and Roberta Knox, Liberty. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in Ayre-Goodwin-Lee Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
