I looked in the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 federal censuses and did not find any James KIRK. I do see that he is buired in Bowers Chapel Cemetery, Dallas Co., MO, with dates: 17 Jan 1838 - 4 Oct 1906. There are no other KIRK burials near him. I'll send a copy of your request and my answer to the MODALLAS list. Perhaps a KIRK researcher might be able to help. Best of luck, Rick Gregg
