Marie Walden, 88, Bolivar, Mo., passed away at 5 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2001, in Parkview Health Care Facility, Bolivar, after a short illness. Marie was born on Sept. 16, 1912, in Dallas County, Mo., the daughter of Walter David and Rebecca Jane Gann Wilkerson. In 1956, she was united in marriage to Price Baker Walden, and had been a Polk County resident for the past 44 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers. Marie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Price Baker Walden; two daughters, Doris and her husband William L. Hooper, Bolivar, and Helen Marie Gill, Ozark; one brother, Fred Otis Wilkerson, Springfield; three sisters, Violetta Craig, Springfield, Edna Ewing, Roanoke, Va., and Hazel Broad, Broken Arrow, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Walden will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in Butler Funeral Chapel, Bolivar, with the Rev. William L. Hooper officiating, and a reading by Donna Nelson. Music will be provided by George and Susan Baker. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Springfield. Casketbearers will be Jack Hughlett, Rick Hughlett, Steve Hughlett, Kelly Webster, Mark Duree, and Gene Nelson. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel.
