Hello! My grandmother's grandfather was in the 8th MO Cavalry during the Civil War. His name was John Nicholas Eberhart. He and Delilah Ellanorah Payne were married in 1850 in IN and settled in Buffalo, Dallas County shortly afterwards and lived there until the mid 1870s. They had 11 children in Dallas Co., MO and in the mid '70s moved to Comanche, TX and had their 12th child in TX. John was a sheriff in Brady, TX at that time. Would love to visit the Shepard Room and see the information they have on the 8th MO Cavalry.
