Recently there has been discussion about Alexander Hill, b. 1818 in Missouri Territory and died in Dallas County, MO. He married Lucinda Edmisson/Edmondson. The 1850 Dallas County Census shows several Hill families; including: 1. Alexander Hill, 32, MO Lucinda, 28,TN Darcus, 10, MO Melissa, 5, MO Washington, 5, MO Clemantine, 1, MO Izella, 1, MO 2. Elizabeth Hill, 50, NC Catharine, 23, KY Elijah, 14, MO James H., 8, MO 3. John Hill, 30, MO Sarah, 26,IL George, 6, MO Mary E., 2,MO Charles, 5/12, MO 4. Jacob Hill, 19, MO Margret, 19, TN 5. George H. Hill, 31, MO Patsy, 23, TN Martha J., 2, MO Francis M., 3/12, MO 6. Louis Hill, 24, MO Lettice, 28, TN John H., 11/12, MO Living with the family was John Gardner, 69,SC, Lettice Gardner, 68, SC, and Nancy Gardner, 30,KY The thing that is striking about these six families is that each of the heads of household were born in Missouri, with the exception of Elizabeth whose children were born in Missouri. Were any of these siblings of Alexander Hill? Or are there other family groupings independent of Alexander? Sarah Thompson
