    1. Kelley School 1910-11
    2. I attempted to send this last week, but it appears it was not received by the list(s). This is a list of the one room Kelley School student for the subject school year. The school was located in western Dallas Co near the Polk Co line. I found this in my grandmother's (Esther Eva Nicodemus) papers. I added the full name and dates for her and her siblings. They were six of the 11 children of Harry Weldon Nicodemus and Rosa Bell Barnett who had a farm south of Buffalo. The farm is still in the family and there is still one of the 11 children still living, Lena Lorene (Nicodemus) Snodgrass b. 14 Sep 1912 who still lives in Buffalo. My uncle indicates that the school was still in operation in 1938 and still a one room school. Note that in 1910-11 there were 54 students listed and certainly not all the same age. Not a good student to teacher ration.......eh? Hope you find this of interest and perhaps helpful. There are LOTS of question marks and "field rocks" in that cemetery. However, I wonder if someone who died in 1903 wouldn't have had a marker of some sort?? I checked the 1870 and 1880 Dallas Co. censuses and did not find your COOK. I checked some other books I have and could not find any mention of a Jacob COOK. I'll send a copy of your request, and my response, to the Dallas Co. mailing list. Perhaps someone will be able to help. Rick Gregg
