I was recently in Dade county doing some research. The people at the courthouse were very helpful. The county recording office let me look at the books they had (land records, titles, deeds, plats) also some early birth and death records. Probate court had their indexes all put on the computer and is filed by surname. They include ( divorces, adoptions, guardianships, wills, bankruptcies). They did not charge me any thing. Circuit court had records only after 1900 they said the rest were stored in boxes and was not accessible. They charged me $5.00 for a search. The library has a lot of information and are very helpful. They also said if I belong to the County Genealogical Society the court house should not charge a search fee. And I do belong to the society Lots of information has been sent to the Federal archives and many of the large libraries around the country. Goldie Masur
