This much I do know--- In 1856 Samuel Lafayette Lance married Nancy Wasson in Buncombe County NC . In 1858 their son, Martin Luther Lance was born, according to his deah certificate, in Missouri. This family is found listed on the 1860 Dade County Missouri census. Martin Luther at 2 yrs. In 1862, according to bible records, the family buried and infant daughter. The 1870 Dade County census shows Martin Luther Lance . 11 yrs. living with a William Wasson in Morgan Township of Dade County . In 1874 Martin Luther Lance, now only 14 is summoned to Buncombe County to recieve his dad, Samuel Lafayette Lance's, full share of his dads estate ( Martin B. Lance ) since as the estate papers indicate, Samuel is desceased What happened to Samuel and Nancy Wasson Lance.?? I hope some of you folks from Dade County can help.
