His son Robert Jones and wife Louisa Wood were also my great-grandparents--their daughter Maggie Hester, who married Ernest Byram, was my grandmother. Although the 1880 census listed him as being born in Virginia, no one seems to know anything else about his background, parentage, etc. Does anyone anywhere know anything about the elusive Burkett Jones of Dadeville, Mo, circa 1800's?
