This much I do know--- In 1856 Samuel Lafayette Lance married Nancy Wasson in Buncombe County NC In 1858 their son, Martin Luther Lance was born, according to his deah certificate, in Missouri. This family is found listed on the 1860 Dade County Missouri census. Martin Luther at 2 yrs. In 1862, according to bible records, the family buried an infant daughter. The 1870 Dade County census shows Martin Luther Lance . 11 yrs. living with a William Wasson in Morgan Township of Dade County . In 1874 Martin Luther Lance, now only 14 is summoned to Buncombe County to recieve his dad, Samuel Lafayette Lance's, full share of his dads estate ( Martin B. Lance ) since as the estate papers indicate, Samuel is desceased What happened to Samuel and Nancy Wasson Lance.?? They must be in Dade County. Does anyone know anything about this William Wasson that this young Lance boy is living with in 1870 ? I hope some of you folks from Dade County can help.
