From what I have found/been told they raised P.H. Simmons the son of John Ed Simmons & Cathy Choate, he (P.H.) married a Lucy Bowles about Nov 15, 1865 in Mt. Vernon. I have a picture of the Choate family, he (P.H.) looks about 4 yrs old.
