I have all Epperson info and place to aquire a Dorothy York book, plus I have the list of sources. All is going along just wonderfully. Harrison Calloway Epperson is a great big brick wall in the Epperson family tree. Know one has found his parents in many many years of hunting. With the computer and all it can do, this brick wall may tumble. Thanks for all your help. Jane

The information in this book is taken from various sources, most of which are the published records of Dade County, Mo., a list of which are listed in the bibliography at the end of volume 3. There are few cases where information came from other sources and this is noted, and is not verified.

Is there anyone that does marriage, newspaper, death, etc. lookups in Dade County? I am looking for George Melcher-Jessie Bradford family? I think they married in Dadeville, MO around 1903 and their first child, Christine, was born in 1904. Jessie's parents were Nancy Rollins Lewis Bradford and John Smith Bradford. I do know that George and Jessie Melcher are buried in the Rice Cemetery, rural Dadeville, MO because we made a trip to Greenfield, MO and talked to a Goldie West, then to Dadeville in 1992 and took pictures of their graves, along with Nancy and John Smith and several others buried all together. I was told that George Melcher died in 1960 and he was a superintendant of a big school or college. I would like his obituary and his wife, Jessie Bradford Melcher's. I have Nancy Lewis Bradford's obit but I don't have her husband, John Smith Bradford. I have her daughter's Olive Bradford Robertson's obit. Olive Bradford married Dr. J. W. Robertson on August 17, 1904 and would like to have her marriage record and/or announcement in the newspaper. I will pay for copies & postage. Your help is greatly appreciated. Peggy B. Lewis in Enid, OK

Looking for any information on a George Melcher born in MO on 1 Sep 1868 died on 6 June 1960 buried in the Dadeville, Rice Cemetery, Dade County, MO (parents from Germany-TN) and his wife, Jessie Bradford born in Dadeville, Dade County, MO, on 19 June 1868 (her parents were John Smith Bradford and Nancy Rollins Lewis Bradford) assuming they married in Dadeville date unknown and died 16 April 1946 and buried in the Rice Cemetery in Dadeville, MO. In 1900 he was a boarder along with his younger brother, William, in a James A. Mason home in Everton, Dade County, MO and his occupation was Superintendant of Schools. 1910 census he was married to Jessie with two children: Christine 6 and John 2 along with his younger brother, William, and living in Springfield, MO listing the occupation of both George and William as a teacher. Can't find them on either the 1920 or 1930 census records. Would like any kind of records, marriage or death; obits ,etc. and would be willing to pay for costs incurred. Thanking you in advance. Sincerely, Peggy B. Lewis Enid, OK - jplewis@cox.net

Address should be (note .com) mckirk@peoplepc.com John, I have an ancestor who, according to the death register, died in Dade County and was buried at or by Bethlehem Church, Cedar Twp near Lockwood. Is there any way to contact this church or get a listing of the persons buried there? I looked in your Dade Co cemetary listings but did not find this cemetary listed. Maybe it goes by another name but I don't know what. I would be happy to buy a book if I only know which book to buy. Thank you. Melody Kirk Carlisle,IA mckirk@peoplepc.cim

I am desperately trying to tie Albert to his father Zebedee (Z.A.) McMasters to complete a D.A.R. application. Note that Albert was born 1855 and Zebedee died in 1857 so I have no Census record that puts them together. Zebedee can be found in the 1850 Census (listed as Albert age 23) under his father Rufus McMasters. Albert can be found in the 1860 Census (listed as Edward F. age 5) with his aunt (Zebedee's sister) Mary Ann (McMasters) Goforth and her husband John T. Goforth. I also can find no record of Albert's mother who apparently also died prior to 1860. My email address is bbingham@netzero.net Thanks in advance, Brian B.
