I have a few family photos. Nancy became ill and moved near relatives in Dade County, MO. She died in Eureka Springs, AR (were most of her siblings were born). Her father was Harvey Wilson who was born in Germany in 1802. I have a few photos of Nancy and Thomas (not high quality since they came from tin). I cleaned Nancy's headstone in 2004 and visited it today, July 12th. Our records indicate that Thomas is also buried at the same cemetery. Great Uncle Eldro's research revealed the following: Thomas Ephraim Shaver first married Nancy (Nannie) H. Wilson on March 10, 1869. Thomas and Nannie had five (5) children: Austin, Edwin, Unnamed, Eldro and Leonard. Nannie died January 8, 1882. Thomas was born in Highland Co., Virginia. (Austin is my great grandfather). Thomas E. Shaver second marriage was to Anna Meyers Whelchel on March 1, 1882. Thomas and Anna had no children. Anna Whelchel was born October 4, 1863 and died June 6, 1884. Thomas E. Shaver third marriage was to Rebecca Frances Watson Kinsinger on November 20, 1884. Kinsinger was Rebecca's name from a previous marriage. Thomas and Rebecca had two children: Minnie Estella Shaver who was born August 23, 1885 and died October 9, 1885; and Millie Jane Shaver who was born March 27, 1886. Thomas' parents, siblings, Austin and other related relatives are buried in the Mount Tabor Church Cemetery South of Charleston, IL where my grandmother, Margaret Esther Shaver (Stone), and my mother, Mary Lou Stone (Hopper / Pickett) were raised. Thomas' mother was Sarah "Sallie" Edman and his father was John Shaver. John changed the family name from Shaffer to Shaver (two ff's in German are pronounced as a V) I have John's name on his daughter's marriage Cert. he uses Shaver and she uses Shafer. John's dad was Abraham Shaffer. Bye for now! Rodney Hopper Sources: Marriage Register Coles County, Illinois: Thomas E. Shaver and Nancy H. Wilson Minister: A J Newgent - 1860 Federal Census Record for Coles Co., IL Thomas was also sometimes called Eef.

Could someone with Dade Co. marriage information do a look-up, please? I'm trying to find members of the family of John and Dilla Smith. He died in Dade Co. in 1869 and is buried there. In 1870, the last time I can locate the family, she and the children lived in Smith Twp., Dade Co. Daughters were Cynthia (b. 1847), Sarah (b. 1849), Lucy E. or Isabella (b. 1856). There's also the chance Dilla (or Dilly or Delia or Delilah) remarried (b. 1822). In addition, there were several sons I can't locate. Sons would be William H. (b.1842), Levi J. (b. 1844), Cullen M. (b. 1851), John A. (b. 1852), Andy or Andrew J. (b. 1858), James W. (b. 1861) and Alonso or Alonzo B. (b. 1867). If some kind soul who has Dade marriage info could check and see if any of these Smiths are there, I would SO much appreciate it. Thank you. Joanne Gaudio

I'm going to say yes based on 2 things. One - your mention of the death certificate, and two, Grove School used to be 0.42 miles ESE of Sinking Creek Cemetery, right here: http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=37.32750&lon=-93.67417&datum=NAD27&s=50&size=l I've added that alternate name to my records. Once again, I am offering to do census lookups anywhere in the U.S. back to 1700s if it is listed on ancestry.com. Please supply the 1st name and SURNAME and an estimated birth year, plus suspected birth state, and the 1 year that you are searching. Hope this helps! Hi Dan, Check out this WorldConnect file for the family of Meredith Hayward. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=litle6of6&id=I15178 He lists the mother of Meredith Hayward as Mary Caroline Smith. I'm connected to this Hayward lineage by marriage, but I don't have any further information on Meredith Hayward's descendants. Good luck in your search. Can anyone tell me what cemeteries would have been in/near the Center township of Dade county in 1911? I am seeking the burial place of Sarah Cassandra WALKER LASATER, and her husband, Hardy LASATER. Thanks for any help with this. Janis Walker Gilmore Pawleys Island, SC & Seattle, WA
Hello, I am new to the list, and thought I would just throw my Dade county names out there, just in case.... Hardy LASATER / LASSITER (and variants), b ca 1825 NC + Sarah Cassandra WALKER, b 3 Jan 1831 TN Hardy was the son of Canon LASATER. Sarah Cassandra "Cassie" WALKER was the daughter of Elijah WALKER and first wife, Matilda McMURRY. Sarah and Hardy probably married in Dickson county TN, between 1850 and 1854. Their first known child was born in 1854, in Missouri, so we can presume that they were living in Dade county by that time. They appear in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 Dade Co MO census, in Center township. Sarah appears as a widow in the same township in 1900, as head of household. Sarah appears in the 1910 census, same township, in the home of her son Allen. Sarah died in 1911 in Center township, Dade county, Missouri. I would be most interested in exchanging info with anyone interested in either of these lines. Janis Walker Gilmore Pawleys Island, SC & Seattle, WA rajanisg@earthlink.net
