    3. The Wanns are one of my direct lines. I know the Smalls connect in several places. Have been following your emails. Were you ever in contact with Kaye Smith? Haven't seen her posting lately. She posted a message in 1998 about James Henry Wann Small and family. As to your question, I think you should immediately find out if there is a local genealogical society, or where the nearest one is, and find out what records they have. Many have recorded old cemeteries, or have files on local names, etc. I had heard that some of the Smalls went down to Claremore. Helen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Earl L. Still looking for someone who might have the knowledge or access to information where my great grandfather James Henry Wann Small is buried. I have been told by family members, for many years, that he is buried in or near Claremore, Oklahoma. Does anyone have a suggestion as to steps I might take upon arrival in Claremore to find his final resting place? Will be leaving for Claremore April 30th and plan to be in the Oklahoma/Missouri area for approximately a week. 1. [MODADE] Need researcher for McDonald County
    2. Hello Everyone, I'm looking for some in or near McDonald County who would go to the courthouse and get probate records/wills, etc. for my g grandfather Wm Michael Marsh, who died in 1940. FYI, I have the funeral record from Grove OK. I would imagine there was an obituary there also. He is the only of my ancestors to Dade/Lawrence Co who died elsewhere. I got those Dade/Lawrence Co files for most of the others last summer. He lived in Tiff City for about 30 years, most of which with his wife (2) Nora, 30 years his junior. He is buried in Pennsboro, though for the life of me I couldn't find his stone when I was there last summer. FYI, I have without luck posted to the Benton Co. AR list and McDonald County list. Thanks for any suggestions. Best Regards, Janet Hunter

    3. Thanks to those who have taken the time to look for me. Naomi was born about 1816. A family quote says that she lived to be about 101 years old. She and James were divorced before 1870. A descendant of James said that after the divorce Naomi went to live with family. So that is why I am trying to locate her in the 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900 and maybe in the 1910 census. However, I do not know who in the family she went to live with. The divorce was in Greene County, Mo. One of her sister was Elvira Elizabeth Clark Grantham that lived in Dade County after the Civil War. Her other sister, Nancy Smith ClarkDalton, also lived in Dade County, but only for a short time, returning to Leavenworth County, Kansas to live with her oldest child, William CLark Meredith Dalton. In 1868, Naomi was living with Allen B. Edwards, who was, by that time, divorced from Sarilda M. Dalton Edwards, a daughter of Nancy Smith Clark Dalton. He married again and was found in the 1870 Wyondotte Co., Ks census, shortly after moving to Custer County, Colorado. Anyway, Naomi would have been about 55 in 1870, 65 in 1880, 75 in 1890, 85 in 1900, and 95 in 1910. Your help is appreciated. If anyone should have access to census for those years in the others states that I mention, could you please check there for me? Bev Karl A Gibson wrote: > Didn't find a Naomi. > Did find a > Nora B. 3. Hi All, Has anyone figured how these EVANS who are buried in Cedarville Cemetary "mesh"? At a glance: Eugene & Eliza could have been sibs, Albert F. and Walter E. could have been twins and sibs to Ora and Ralph EVANS, Eugene A. 1859-1919 Eliza S. 1865-1937 Albert F. 1890-1941 Ora Edward 1885-1944, Ralph Sherman 1895-1965 m. Laura Ethel FARMER Walter E. 1890-1964 and buried next to Walter E. we have: SMITH, John b.1856, d.1936, Son of A. J. SMITH & Nancy TAYLOR. And for this 80 year old Chap; Does anyone have a spouse or two? My interest: a great aunt E.C. "Kate" SMITH, "widow" in 1900 census. When I first noticed this, I mused, unhuh, A "John" Smith no doubt, however it seems that later in the 1920-30s, some SMITH cousins taunted some HEWITT cousins in Parsons, Kansas that they were related, while the HEWITTs held their "noses in the air". ie. I quote a recently demised HEWITT first cousin: "They(SMITHS) passed out religious leaflets, on street corners in downtown Parsons!!!" Thanks Jim Adams
