    1. [MODADE] Marsh -- Olinger Query
    2. Hello Everyone, I just realized that the Lillie Marsh Olinger b. 2 Jun 1867, d. 6 Apr 1893, wife of George OLINGER and d/o B J.J. and P.A. Marsh (Pennsboro), is indeed a daughter of the latter couple, although she is listed as Frankie E in both the 1880 Dade County census, and her parents Civil War pension records. The birth date matches with that in the pension records. I had previously thought maybe there was an error. I do not have a marriage date for George and Lillie (maybe Frankie in marriage records) Marsh Olinger. It was probably in Dade, but could have been in Lawrence co. I am curious if anyone is familiar with George Olinger; where he fits in with the other Oligners, whether he might have married a second time; whether a 1900 census record might show there any surviving children then of his marriage to Lillie. I do know at Pennsboro (thanks to Dorothy York) that they had an infant Flossie buried at there also. I also know that when her father Benjamin died in 1915 there were no heirs of George and Lillie Ollinger listed in the probate. This leaves me with figuring out what happened to just one of Benjamin and Permelia Marsh' children: James L. Marsh, b. 3 Jun 1870 (and shown as Delaware 1/12 in the transcription of the 1880 Dade Co census South Township #29, which I really need to look at the original to see if that is indeed what it says or IF someone has finally spelled out the middle initial "L" which was his grandfather Thomas L. Williams' also and I can figure out if that stands for a surname!). I do not believe James L. Marsh is buried in Pennsboro. Thanks in advance, Best Regards, Janet Hunter

So he was almost 100 years old. I can't figure out why I found obituaries for his children and nieces and nephews, but none for John Marsh himself. He was living in Greene Co in 1920, so maybe he remained there, and I can find an obituary in Springfield resources. I believe that Mary Bryant's parents were Timberlake Bryant and Minerva, but had only been given some miscellaneous Census pages with that indication. Now, I am curious still about who the toddler George W. Marsh above belongs to. Is he adjacent to any other Marsh families? Newkirks? Thanks again, Janet

    3. I also have a Dade County Forshey. George Forshey married Narcissa Hanlon. Their son Hiram P Forshey was born in 1853 and died in 1937. He married my aunt, Charity Ann Smith, in 1877. I believe they had five children George,Lanis, Mancie, William and David. I think that Narcissa Hanlon may have been a relative of Charity's stepmother, Rebecca Laisure who married Charles Smith. I would like to know more about this particular family. Hiram and Charity were in the 1900 Dade County MO census, and were in the 1920 Jasper Co MO census. I found a posting that he died 27 Aug 1937, but I can't find out where. Gayle [email protected]

I have found numerous references to Fines in church records and other resources at the Cocke Co website. http://www.rootsweb.com/~tncocke/links.htm My Thomas and Franky Murrell Williams, buried Shiloh, Dade Co, lived there until about 1842, and were probably born there (or Sevier Co).
