Christopher, 91, of Steelville, MO passed away May 5, 2007, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. Effie was born November 21, 1915 in Sligo, MO. She was a member of Gumbo Church of God. Preceded in death by parents, Aldon and Nora (Pitts) Heady; husband, Lawrence Albert Christopher; two sisters, Grace Hulsey and Helen Burns; three brothers, Willis Heady, Ray Heady and James Heady. Survived by eight children: Betty (Mrs. Elmer) Mincher of Steelville; Albert Christopher and wife Sarah of Gumbo; Peggy Lawson of St. Charles; Alta (Mrs. Rod) Carron of Barnhart; Bonne (Mrs. Rick) Youmans of Mesquite, TX; Joseph Christopher and wife Patricia of Imperial; Todd Christopher and wife Tammy of Gumbo; Tommy Christopher and wife Angie of Bonne Terre. Twenty-five grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Visitation, 4-9 p.m. Monday, May 7 at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Desloge. Services, 1 p.m. Tuesday at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Desloge with Rev. Cleo Counts. Interment, Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gumbo Church of God. Daily Journal, Park Hills, St Francois, MO.
